C.S.H.A offers a competitive program covering Halter, English, and Western competition.

The exhibitor must register as a horse and rider or handler combination within their
Region and compete there to qualify for year end awards and eligibility to compete at the
Show of Champions. At this time competition is offered in the following categories.
Halter
Junior Horse (5 years & under) with Amateur or junior handler*
Senior Horse (6 years & over) with Amateur or junior handler*
Open (any age horse) with an Open Division handler**
English
Lead line (rider 6 years & under)
Walk/Trot 10 years & under
13 /Under
14-17
18-34*
35 & Over*
Open**
Western
Lead Line (rider 6 years & under)
Walk/Jog 10 & under
13/Under
14-17
18-34*
35 & Over*

*All riders or handlers over the age of 18 must have a current amateur card.
** The Open Division is open to any adult or junior who wishes to compete in this division
including those who cannot qualify for an amateur card.
Although some Regions offer "not for Show of Champions qualification" programs, in
addition to their regular high point programs, you may only compete for the Region in
which you live with the following exceptions.
You may only compete for the Region in which you live or follow one of the above noted
exceptions. You may not do both even if one of the programs is a "SOC non-qualifying
program".
The Show of Champions is held each October in a centrally located area to showcase the
champions from each Region. Each Region is entitled to send their top five horse/rider
combinations in each age break in English and Western and their top 10 horse/handler
combinations in Halter. The event is rounded out with the championship events for our
Gymkhana Program and hosts the state finals for C.S.H.A's horsemastership and Royalty
Programs.
